July 28 -Newmar Factory Tour

We are travelling to Bremen, Indiana today, staying at Pla-Mor Campground and going on a Newmar Motorhome factory tour this afternoon.
The tour was quite interesting but we weren’t allowed to take any pictures. Many of the workers are Amish and prefer not to have any “graven images” of themselves. The best part of the tour was seeing how the motorhomes are floated on air cushions and then pushed around the factory floor from station to station. Then when we were all done, we got to walk through all of the finished motorhomes at the end of the line.
When we stopped at the parts and service counter we noticed this motorcycle out front that has been built to accommodate a wheelchair. Peter was impressed.
Afterward we ended up at yet another antique mall.

When we stopped for groceries, Peter noticed Uncle Jim’s Corvette on the front page of a magazine!

July 27 -Madison Park Church of God -Garret moves to Hawaii

It was a wonderful morning worshipping the Lord at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. Pastor Rolland spoke on the hurried lifestyle many are leading and that it causes brokenness in our relationships with people and God.  He quoted Mother Teresa, “We need to find God and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness.”  Only God can truly renew and replenish us.
After service we grabbed a bite to eat at A & W, then followed that up with ice cream at DQ. Then we headed back to the motorhome for a bit of down time.

Zac arranged supper with Garrett, a friend that he met at Camp Electric.  We drove to Indianapolis in the Jeep to a restaurant to meet Garrett and his family for a wonderful visit over supper.  Their family was moing to Hawaii and flying out the next day! We felt quite special being able to participate in there family’s “last supper”.  I am so thankful to the Lord for meeting so many wonderful people as we travel.  God makes connections with families that we will never forget; thank you Compton family.
New friends

July 26 -Anderson Speedway

We hung out at the campground today.  I worked on the blog and Peter and I did some planning for the days ahead.  Zane, Genesis and I went paddle boating on the man made lake here, and then Genesis went for a swim with a friend she met at the campground.
Then we got cleaned up to go to Anderson Speedway to watch some car racing.  After 42 laps the rain started along with a severe thunderstorm and the racing stopped.

After Daytona being rained out and now this, Peter is starting to say that Zane is bad luck.

July 25 -Anderson University

We drove to Anderson, Indiana today.  We pulled into our campsite, Timberline Valley Campground, and quickly got set up and had a bite to eat.  Then hopped in the car to drive to Anderson University as we were booked on a tour.  It was a great 3 hour tour!  Highlights of the University were the Music and drama theatre, the chapel, dorm rooms with free laundry facilities, the amazing gym with swimming pool, indoor running track, etc.  While we were there the NFL Indiana Colts were doing there summer training camp.
Although Zac hasn’t confirmed any plans for furthering his education, we wanted to take the opportunity to allow him  to see various options.

After the tour we headed back to the RV park where I began the huge amount of laundry needing to be done.  After supper the boys and I had a fun volleyball game with a family from Chicago until dark.  Genesis found a friend and had fun jumping on the huge jumping pillow here in the campsite.

July 24, Pick up Zac, Air Museum, Mama's

We drove to Cedarville, Ohio to pick up Zac from Camp Electric.  Zac had lots of stories to tell us, some which I’ve included in previous posts.
He and a friend stayed up until 6 am talking, so he was feeling very tired at times throughout the day, nodding off for minutes at a time.

Peter and the boys headed back to the National Air Force Museum and Genesis and I went to the mall for a few hours.
The previous evening we enjoyed Mama DiSalvo's so much that we decided to eat there again so Zac could experience it.
The service and food was just as good the second time.

Kids at Camp Electric kept calling the guy on the right, Zac

July 23 -National Air Force Museum, Camp Electric, last day of teaching

We headed to the Dayton, Ohio area to tour the National Air Force Museum.  We have never seen so many airplanes under one roof in all our lives!  Over 17 acres of indoor exhibits. We are returning tomorrow as we could not get it all in in one day.  Part of our visit today included the IMAX showing of  Fighter Pilot.
After the museum closed we headed to Vitamin World to get the vitamins we needed and upon the employees recommendation for supper we went to Mama DiSalvos, an Italian restaurant.  There was a long line so they brought us bread to nibble on because we had kids. Then they gave us a free bottle of Mama DiSalvo's salad dressing to take home. Wow! It was fantastic!

It was Zac’s last full day of camp.  Again, he had a different piano teacher.  He had a very interesting teaching style and had lots of energy.  The class really loved learning from him.  Zac stayed out of the evening concerts and wrote a song with someone instead, which he had done a few other times throughout the week.

July 22 - "The Beach" - Camp Electric Day 3

We were excited to go to The Beach Waterpark, and it was a terrific day!  We did waterslides for almost 6 straight hours.  We all were feeling muscles we forgot we had, and sore feet too, but it was so worth it!

Zac had a different piano teacher at camp today, who was from a band named City Harbor.  He had a fairly relaxed teaching style (they spent 40 minutes of their class discussing which Disney movie each person would want to live in), but he also had many good points.  They also heard from a man named Tom Jackson each day; he taught them about what to do when playing a live show.  Tom did this by having a band on stage and critiquing them in front of all the camp students!  Zac says it was lots of fun to watch him push the band around the stage, and that he enjoyed learning about how to perform.

July 21 -Not much

We took a down day at the campsite, which allowed us to do laundry, swim and Genesis and I got our hair cut.

It was also Zac’s first full day at camp.  He had already made some friends from the previous day, but kept meeting new people throughout the week.  He also got to go to his classes about piano.  He really enjoyed the learning and took many notes.
