July 31 -Anticipation in Osh Vegas

We spent some more time enjoying the amenities at the campground. I spent some time at the pool with the kids and then Peter took them to do archery.

A few weeks ago Peter figured that we would be in the vicinity of Oshkosh, WI during EAA Airventure, a week long airshow sponsored by the Experimental Aircraft Association. He sent an email to everyone he knew who was a pilot and invited them all to join us.
Emile, two of his boys, along with our property manager, Mark Sampson and his girlfriend Karen are arriving tomorrow in Emile’s new plane!

We left the campground at 2pm and drove to Oshkosh. Just as we were arriving we could see some of the jets performing today’s show.
Later on in the day, we learned that a pilot had been killed while trying to land here.

There are already over 11,000, not a typo, 11,000 airplanes here at the show.

We are looking forward to the shows over the coming days.

Our campground

July 30 -Illinois and Wisconsin

We are travelling past Chicago, Illinois to Caledonia, Wisconsin.  Our destination is Yogi Bear Jellystone RV Park.  What an awesome campground!  The kids ran to play lasertag as soon as we arrived.  They have waterslides, water wars (water balloon launchers), waterpark, and capture the flag too!  It was so fun to relax and enjoy the campsite, we did not even have to unload our car!

July 29 -Elkhart Motorhome Musuem

Elkhart Motorhome Museum
We drove the car to Elkhart, Ohio to tour the Motorhome Museum and Hall of Fame.  It was so neat to see all the old models of campers and motorhomes.  Then we had plans to meet Katelynn (a friend of Zac’s from IYC in Nashville) for supper at Panera Bread.  What a lovely visit with Katelynn and her friend Lexi over supper.

Many of the interior looked like train cars or ship staterooms

We weren't sure why they had this sign at the Motorhome Museum.

July 27 -Madison Park Church of God -Garret moves to Hawaii

It was a wonderful morning worshipping the Lord at Madison Park Church of God in Anderson, Indiana. Pastor Rolland spoke on the hurried lifestyle many are leading and that it causes brokenness in our relationships with people and God.  He quoted Mother Teresa, “We need to find God and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness.”  Only God can truly renew and replenish us.
After service we grabbed a bite to eat at A & W, then followed that up with ice cream at DQ. Then we headed back to the motorhome for a bit of down time.

Zac arranged supper with Garrett, a friend that he met at Camp Electric.  We drove to Indianapolis in the Jeep to a restaurant to meet Garrett and his family for a wonderful visit over supper.  Their family was moing to Hawaii and flying out the next day! We felt quite special being able to participate in there family’s “last supper”.  I am so thankful to the Lord for meeting so many wonderful people as we travel.  God makes connections with families that we will never forget; thank you Compton family.
