July 10 -Musician's Hall of Fame, Oh Deer

Check out the wall behind us
We headed to downtown Nashville, to tour the Musicians Hall of Fame.
At the end of our tour we met the Public Relations person for the museum (Amy), who told us that when she was 10 years old she travelled the U.S. in a motorhome with her family for a year.  She shared how that trip sparked her love for history. That along with her PR training led her to where she is now.

We then went to Puckett’s restaurant for lunch as per Amy’s recommendation.  It was great BBQ food in an historic corner building.
New guitars painted flat black and arranged on the wall
Then we headed back to the campsite for awhile after which Zac and I went to the movie theatre to see X-Men.  While we were at the movie, Peter met a couple and their 16 year old son, a homeless family, living in their car.

They get day passes at the campsite, so that they can use the shower house and laundry facilities.

They lost their home and all their belongings because a drunk driver, without insurance, hit them. The mom and dad both needed a number of surgeries and time to recuperate.

The dad was in the process of changing jobs and didn’t have medical coverage. The cost of their medical bills caused them to lose everything. He explained that he is looking for a job but now spends his time making wooden deer all day at a picnic table at the RV park and then sells the deer in downtown Nashville in the evenings.
This is what brings in some money for them to live.
Their son is interested in music, so he and Zac hung out a bit and talked about their interests.
