While travelling through Pennsylvania we noticed a sign saying Harley Davidson Factory Tour. This was one of Peter's pins on our map but he assumed the factory was in Milwaukee! It was a complete surprise that we just happened to be driving past the factory in York, PA while we were on our way to the Pennsylvania Dutch country. The tour lasted about 90 minutes and showed the complete assembly of the bikes. Bare steel formed into tanks, fenders, frames right onto final paint and assembly. No pictures were allowed in the factory.
Travelling to New Holland,
Pennsylvania today. It is Amish country,
where buggies pulled by horses are a common sight. The Amish people have chosen a simple life, with
no electricity or cars. We camped at Country Haven
Campground, which was up on a hill with a beautiful view of the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside. We loved this area, with its
gorgeous rolling hills and covered bridges on twisty country roads and antique
stores. Once we parked the camper we headed out to a farm where you can watch the cows being milked and where they have a drive thru window at their barn selling homemade ice cream.

Awwww...you're making me homesick. lol I grew up in Amish country and my mom taught in a one room Amish schoolhouse. Anyway, things are not always so lovely and quaint like it's portrayed though....just like an culture or people group. Anyway, I'm really enjoying following your adventures.
