Apr 5 -Charlotte Speedway Autofair, Lawnmower racing

24 degree bank just slightly less than Daytona's 28 degree
We are camping right across the street from Charlotte Motor Speedway at a campsite called Ver-El Mobile Village.  Because the Speedway was just across the street we decided to check out “Auto Fair”. It is 50 car clubs, 1600 vehicles for sale and 9500 vendor booths. It fills the entire inside of the track and all of the straights plus two other fields on the far side of the track.
We spent most of the day there. We watched pig races, looked thru various vendor booths and checked out different cars and trucks for sale. The most fun part of the day was watching lawnmower racing. Some were just your basic garden tractors and some were souped up racers that drifted through the turns. One of the lady drivers was taken to hospital after the bottom the the engine blew out, locking up the wheels and flipping her mower. As they rolled her toward the ambulance she was asking someone to get her mower fixed for the races the next day. A true racer!
