Apr 29 -Davis Frame, Antique Alley, Jackknife

We are on the road again heading first to Davis Frame to get a tour around their shop and see their timber frame model home. It was definitely an adventure going to Davis Frame!!  We pulled off the interstate in Vermont to get fuel and that was the beginning of our GPS going wacky.  The GPS took us down the wrong way on mountain roads and wanted us to cross the river on a covered bridge that was only 10’ high. We are over 12’ high.  BIG PROBLEM!
We are also 65 feet long, and now we need to turn around on mountain roads.  Well, Peter is amazing and pulled into a long laneway and I stood on the main road to block traffic so he could back onto the road and get turned around going the correct direction.  In this process we jackknifed the motorhome into the trailer, denting the trailer and scratching up the motorhome, but we got turned around and we are all safe!  It is times like this that when pressure is high and my attitude is not where it should be that I get that sick feeling in my stomach.  I am so thankful that I have the Lord to rely upon because I need Him so desperately each day!

Our arrival to Davis Frame, was late due to our GPS detours, but Jeremiah gave us a great tour around their shop and seeing their timber frame model home was so very lovely.

After Davis Frame we went on to New Hampshire to Antique Alley.  It is a road with 500 antique dealers in 40 miles. Then we put on some more miles and found a place to park on the side of the road at the beginning of Antique Alley.  We got the car out and drove the 40 miles of antique shops in the Jeep.  We all had a blast looking at old stuff and found some great deals too!

Onward to camp at a Sam’s Club parking lot tonight.  (Like a Costco)

  1. I am sure that your attitude is better than most of us would be on an extended vacation such as this sweetie! Never you mind - just keep your eyes where they are supposed to be and not where you were! Love you all! - Tiff
