Feb 9 Sweet "MotorHome" Alabama, Loxley, Derailed Diner

Today, we are on the road from Biloxi, MS to the Mobile, Alabama area.  We camped just east of Mobile at Riverside RV Park, they had big pull thru sites for us, which was awesome! The park is situated along the Styx River. We took a brief walk along the banks and had a lot of fun. In the summertime you can go up the road a few miles and get a tube then float back down to the RV site.

We attended Loxley Church of God tonight.  It was great!  This is a very welcoming church, we were greeted well, introduced to the Pastor, and felt welcome and at home very quickly!  The pastor was fantastic!  He preached on the curses we speak on ourselves, when we say negative things about ourselves.  He said, “we need to start saying the things God says about us.”  This was a great message for us, especially living in the small space we are in!  We need to ensure that we are not cursing ourselves with negative comments or comments that say we can’t do it.  With Christ all things are possible!  Thank you God for the things you teach us!
When we were introduced to the Pastor he thought we said we were from Elberta, a town just up the road from Loxley. He was quite surprised when he later learned that we were from Alberta. It was quite  comical.
On the drive to Loxley, Peter saw a sign for a roadside diner called "Derailed Diner". It was a great meal and a wonderful cafe to look around. The outside had a facade of a rail car that had derailed and busted into the cafe. You could sit inside the rail car if you wanted. The following are some fun pictures from around the restaurant.

Tailgating is popular in America. This is actually the full back end of a pickup with a TV screen embedded in painted facade

  1. It is very interesting timing you guys are (were) in Mobile, Alabama, as we kids are currently doing a literature study on "To Kill a Mockingbird," which is set outside of Mobile, Alabama! :-)
    Safe travels!
