Aug 20 -Check Engine Life and the Moose Jaw Tunnels

Off to Moose Jaw, SK today.  We are staying at Prairie Oasis Campground.  Just as we were pulling into Moose Jaw our “check engine light” came on in the motorhome.  We checked into the campground & Peter made a few calls to try to get the motorhome serviced, without any success.  He just worked on things himself finding out that the coolant level in the reservoir was down 2 litres. We are praying it will be good as we are continuing our journey Friday morning.

We had reservations for touring the Tunnels of Moose Jaw this afternoon.  It was a very interesting tour, learning about the Chinese immigrants and how they lived underground due to the prejudice that they faced above ground.  We saw how they lived in gross conditions to work for pennies a day.  The conditions in which the people lived was appalling to the point that Canada has apologized and given money to any of those family members from this time period.  We also went on the Al Capone Tour.  It was good, with the guides dressed for Al Capone’s time period and they were in character as if working for Al.  We enjoyed this tour for entertainment, but it was far less educational and there was very little history learned.
