Dec 3 Hollywood and The Dream Center Tour

December 3, 2013

We wanted to go to The Dream Center which is right near Hollywood. The tour didn't start until 1pm so we left home early and looked around Hollywood.

By chance were able to see Ben Stiller getting his name on the Hollywood walk of fame and Tom Cruise was there to introduce him.  Cool!!

But, the coolest part of the day was going on a tour of  The Dream Center.  It was amazing to see the facility, hear the story of how it began with one man trying to make a difference and how God has blessed this ministry and made it what He intended it to be.
We are coming back later in the week for their adopt a block program.

I hope to detail a little more about TDC in a later post.

Dec 2 Venice Beach

December 2, 2013
Just hung out at the campsite in the morning.  The kids worked on school.  I worked on booking places to stay for San Diego and Mexico.  In California, we have found it a bit tougher to book a campsite that can fit us, so I wanted to ensure we were good for a few weeks!

By lunch time we were on our way to Venice Beach.

It gets its name from the canals that cut through the city.

Although Venice Beach is famous for "Muscle Beach" where "Arnold" was 'discovered' the highlight was being at the beach itself!  It’s a beautiful beach that runs for miles!

Watching Zane and Genesis jumping waves fully clothed and laughing with each other was priceless!

While Zac played in the sand, sinking sand that is!

We had hot dogs at Jody Maroni’s right along the beach. Zac loved this place, especially their Chicken Andouille sausage made with Cajun spices!

Dec 1 , Anaheim Carnival

December 1, 2013
We arrived at Anaheim Resort RV, which is so close to Disney that we can watch the fireworks from the campsite each night.  Today we got settled into our campsite.  We checked out the area and found a Mexican carnival across the street from our campsite.  They had a mariachi band playing and singing in Spanish.  There was games and SNOW IN THE PARKING LOT. It was so much fun for the residents of California!  They were throwing snow and riding on sleds on this little area of snow in the parking lot. All while wearing T-shirts.

We decided to go to church Sunday night, as we did not have time to get to a morning service.
We went to Calvary Chapel, just up the road from the campground. We enjoyed the teaching and the people were so very friendly!

November 30, 2013
It’s a travel day!  Whoo Hoo!  We are off to Anaheim, CA.  (Los Angeles)
We thought.
We had a rear inside tire blow out on the MH on I-15. Thankfully we were right at an exit on the interstate so we pulled off and there was a parking lot in front of a Bank that was empty and available for us to park.  Then the calls began, as it was 4:45 p.m. on a Saturday of the Thanksgiving long weekend.  Finally Peter got a hold of someone to come out and service the MH in the parking lot.  We ended up spending the night there. We had already paid for our campsite in Anaheim but decided to spend the night in the bank parking lot. It was free so it all worked out even.
Fortunately the tire was not wrecked and the whole ordeal cost less than $200.  Peter gave the mechanic a $50 tip and offered him a job if he wanted to move to Lloydminster.
